The handwritten document being a decree issued and signed by the Emperor, entitled "Napoleon Empereur des Français, Roi d´Italie et protecteur de la Confédération du Rhin". The decree contains three articles, referring to the appointment of Vice-Admiral Gantheaume as Count of the Empire and about the rights of his descendents. The bold ink signature bears an ink stain to the first capital letter. VG
