D'ORLEANS CLEMENTINE: (1817-1907) French Princess, daughter of King Louis-Philippe I. Clementine married Prince August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and was the mother of Tsar Ferdinand I of Bulgaria. A.L.S., Clementine, two pages, 12mo, Ebenthal (Austria), 12^th November 1870, to Baron de Chaulin, in French. The Princess writes, in part, ‘Tous les objets ayant ete pris en meme temps je vous envoie Monsieur la note de l'expediteur afin que le pere Joseph puisse faire reclamer les caisses au chemin de fer. Il y a en outre un envoi de mon mari qui a desire aussi venir en aide aux.....prisonniers’ (Translation: ‘All the objects having been taken at the same time I am sending you, Sir, the sender’s note so that Father Joseph can have the boxes claimed from the railway. There is also a letter from my husband who also wanted to help the……prisoners’). Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed the Princess. VG
